Week 36, 2025

A milestone week. The mission that me and Kiran set out for, starting January 2023, was accomplished this week. 33 months of dedicated efforts to it. Every single choice we made, every priority, every minute we spent were towards this goal. The mission was for Kiran to get her master’s degree and start working full-time in the US.

In the past 33 months, we moved between 2 states, 3 cities, 4 houses, 5 entrance exams, half a dozen university applications, a master’s degree in under 12 months, countless courses - all in service of this mission. This week, Kiran got a full-time job as an AI engineer/business professional. It was a lot tougher than we expected. It speaks volumes to her hard-work, patience, and optimism.

In a world unmoved by efforts, her perseverence was her only reply. And then the world caved!

The tech job market in the US is at an all-time low. This improbable achievement credits every minute of effort we put in for the last 33 months. It’s hard for me to express this deep appreciation in person (I was raised by a father who could out-ambition Elon Musk - my version of a victory speech is a mumbled ‘good job’). This blog is my emotional personal hatch, lol!

As they say, nothing fails like success. I set aside all my priority items to celebrate this week of accomplishment of a long-standing mission. I read nothing, learned nothing, exercised not at all—just worked enough to complete my tasks at CVS. Next week, I’ll try to remember where I left my motivation.
